A Constituent Court of the Imperial Court
An Auxiliary of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. of North and South America and Its Jurisdictions, Inc.
Oasis of Marietta | Desert of Georgia
Al Tariq Court No. 228 is an Auxiliary of the Prince Hall Shriners, and we strive to support our
Nobles in all their endeavors. We are a charitable and benevolent organization, which stresses the
development of powerful leaders, encourages health awareness among youth and adults,
celebrates the historic and current achievement of African American women and disseminates
information for educational opportunities and career planning to youth and young adults.
We are part of the Desert Conference of Georgia, which consists of 16 Temples and 14 Courts
who have faithfully served the community of Georgia for more than one hundred years. Our
Temples and Courts are strategically located in all major cities across the state to better serve the
community and have a direct impact on social matters. Some of our activities include youth
mentoring, supplying food to shelters, family adoptions during Thanksgivings and Christmas
seasons, toy give-a-ways, etc.
In some of our cities we have partnered with other charitable organizations such as the NAACP,
local Churches, Safe Houses, and Schools. This collaboration has enhanced the delivery of
benevolence to needy families and at-risk kids.
Our Fraternal Order supports the following programs:
– Annual grants, for medical research, with partnerships with the American Diabetes
Association and the Prince Hall Shrine Foundation.
– Continued financial support for institutions of higher learning, with a focus on
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
– Annual grants to the N.A.A.C.P., the Legal Defense Fund, and the United Negro College
Fund (UNCF).
– Voter education and registration drives.
– Establishment of and maintaining dialogue with White House officials, Congressmen, and
national leaders on various issues affecting African Americans and others.
