The “Daughters of Al Tariq Court No. 228” is an Auxiliary of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. Its membership is primarily composed of wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, widows, nieces, and granddaughters of Nobles and Daughters of the Organization.

In the Fall of 2016, a group of awesome nobles from Al Tariq Temple No. 245 requested permission to form an Auxiliary for Al Tariq Temple No. 245 that could assist them in doing the good works of the Shrine. As a result of their efforts, May 17, 2016, Al Tariq Club was formed. Al Tariq Club elected and installed Amanda Thomas as President; Nanette Jordan as Vice President; DeBora Rayford as Secretary and Ora Curry as Treasurer as our 2016 Club Officers.

On November 5, 2016, a dispensation was submitted to the Imperial Court to establish Al Tariq Court UD in the Oasis of Marietta, Desert of Georgia under the supervision of Dt. Sharon Lawson-Mathis (94), Imperial Deputy for the Desert of Georgia. Daughters from the Desert of Georgia created 17 ladies into Al Tariq Club UD.

From November 17, 2016 until August 20, 2017, Al Tariq Court UD continued to meet and learn how to become a Court. August 22, 2017, during the 106th Imperial Session in Kansas City, Missouri our official Petition of Charter was granted by Imperial Commandress Alicia Chisolm (43) and we are now known as Al Tariq Court No. 228, Oasis of Marietta, Desert of Georgia.

On December 21, 2017, Al Tariq Court No. 228 elected Dt. DeBora Rayford as Illustrious Commandress and Noble Richard Eskridge, PP was appointed as Advisor by Illustrious Potentate Marvin Jones.

Al Tariq Court No. 228 is an Auxiliary of the Prince Hall Shriners, and we strive to support Prince Hall Shriners in all their endeavors. We are a charitable and benevolent organization, which stresses the development of powerful leaders, encourages health awareness among youth and adults, celebrates the historic and current achievement of African American women. Chartered August 22, 2017, Al Tariq Court No. 228 focus its endeavors on serving Marietta, Georgia, and the greater Cobb County community.

We are part of the Desert Conference of Georgia, which consists of 18 Temples and 14 Courts who have faithfully served the community of Georgia for more than 100 years. Our Temples and Courts are strategically located in all major cities across the state to better serve the community and have a direct impact on social matters. Some of our activities include youth mentoring, supplying food to shelters, family adoptions during Thanksgivings and Christmas seasons, toy give-a-ways, etc.

Our 2024 Court Theme is “Getting Back to the B.A.S.I.C.S. Part II” as this is the year, we will serve by displaying Bold Actions with Sincere and Impeccable Charitable Service throughout the Oasis of Marietta. Our bible theme is “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
